The runners spent last night tucked up in yurt style cabins on the tiny island of Laxholmen. Paraffin lamps and wood-burning stoves were the order of the day and a toasty night of sleep in a bed was the reward for runners who made sure to keep their stove lit for the whole night.

We continued our run of good luck with the weather yesterday with another day of clear blue skies, no snow and temperatures which were typically arctic but not brutally cold.

As a consequence, all runners were in at a relatively reasonable hour and able to enjoy a good few hours of sleep ready for Stage Four, the longest stage of the race.
