It’s just approaching sunset here at the camp at the end of stage one and the runners are gathered around our campfire trading tales of the wildlife they saw out on the course today. It’s been a great day for wildlife with confirmed sightings of rhino, elephants, zebra, giraffe, and even lions.
The day began at 0800 under overcast skies that kept the temperature mercifully low, and it stayed that way for a good few hours. Eventually the African sun won out though and the afternoon has been a scorcher.
