What is the Desert Ultra? Where is it? What makes it so amazing?

Everything you need to know about the Beyond the Ultimate Desert Ultra is right here in the newest video to drop on our YouTube Channel.

Our Desert Ultra race is a new race, the 2019 edition is only the 4th time it has been run, but we’ve poured all the experience we’ve gathered around the world into setting a route we believe is uniquely beautiful and seriously challenging in equal measure.

The race runs from the towering granite monolith of the Spitzkoppe, around Namibia’s highest range of mountains, the mighty Brandberg, and through the ancient, rugged Doros Crater region. our runners will cover 250km in just 5 days as they make their way to the Finish Line at a working Namibian Save the Rhino Trust ranger station.

Filmed over the last 2 events in the baking and ancient Namib Desert, this video explains everything the race has to offer, from it’s glorious sunsets and it’s star-filled skies to the baking temperatures and 5-day structure that help make it such a challenge.

The video also reminds you all that if you apply for a place in the desert, not only are you guaranteed a place, but if you make it across the finish line of our Desert Ultra you can skip the ballot for the upcoming race of your choice! Click here to learn more about how the Desert Ultra can help you secure places across our race series.

If that wasn’t enough, places on this race can be purchased with a £500 discount until the end of April 2019!

This is the Namib Desert, one of the oldest deserts in the world, a vast region of Southern Africa which has been dry for more than 50 million years. Daytime temperatures at this time of year can reach 50 degrees but as night begins to fall, and the sunset turns the landscape into something otherworldly, the temperatures can drop to freezing.
